Frequently asked questions
- 01
The digital portal is a place for you to understand how your brand and closest competitors are performing across digital.
These dashboards will provide you with insights into upcoming trends, competitor strategies, explanation on why you've had a spike or dip in coverage, and the top sites, posts, and topics for your brand or competitors. You can also see who is talking about your brand with any online, Instagram posts, reels or stories, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook or YouTube coverage mentioning your brand being funnelled into your live dashboard.
- 02
When we are talking about digital, we are refering to the below platforms:
Online publications
Instagram posts
Instagram reels
Instagram stories
TikTok
Twitter (X)
YouTube
Facebook
All these platforms are monitored and included within your digital dashboard.

We pride ourselves on our extensive search and monitoring scope.
Online
For online, we monitor every site and blog across AU and NZ. This scope spans from prominent regional online publications to small microblogs. We cover it all.
If you're ever worried a site isn't on our radar, send us an email with the site, and we will check it out.
Instagram posts & reels
For Instagram posts and reels, we capture anything posted that mentions your brand through either the handle or hashtag in the caption. This is why we love when you keep us in the loop with any new hashtags or handles you are encouraging influencers or consumers to use for your brand.
Please remember for consumers posts we will need your brand mentioned in the caption to be able to pick it up. For influencer posts, we are running any additional sesarch to find posts that only tag your brand in the image when there are no other tags in the caption.
Instagram stories
Unfortunately, although we would love to, we cannot pick up any and every Instagram story. Our Instagram story tracking works off a database full of influencers.
We have about 3,500 AU influencers and 1,250 NZ influencers we track on stories. We will pick up any mention of your brand tagged through handles or hashtags.
This list means we track all stories by the influencers in our monitoring list. For example, we monitor all stories posted by @alexandra__sage and then have a look to see if any of her stories mention a brand or competitor. If she has mentioned you, these stories would then funnel into your digital dashboard.
It's important to note that we cannot pick up a story based on the text alone. We can only pick up stories for your brand if your brand is mentioned through either a hashtag or handle.
TikTok
TikTok tracking also works off a list basis. We have a list of 800 AU and 250 NZ Tiktokers we are currently monitoring. We will pick up any mention of your brand tagged through handles, hashtags, or text in the caption.
It's important to keep us in the loop with any new TikTokers you are working with. This way, we can make sure we are tracking all their content for your brands and ensure this is contributing to your brand and market rankings.
Twitter
We track all Twitter mentions by all AU or NZ users. We pick up any mention of your brand through hashtags, handles or text.
YouTube
YouTube tracking works off a YouTuber list basis. We will pick up any mention of your brand by these YouTubers that mentions you through links, tags or text in the video description.
It's essential to keep us in the loop with any new YouTubers you are working with. This way, we can make sure we are tracking all their content for your brands and ensure this is contributing to your brand and market rankings.
Facebook
Facebook tracking works off a Facebook business page list basis. We will pick up any mention of your brand that mentions you through links, tags or text in the post description. We cannot track any personal Facebook accounts, only business pages.
It's essential to keep us in the loop with any new Facebook business pages you are working with. This way, we can make sure we are tracking all their content for your brands and ensure this is contributing to your brand and market rankings.

The capability to filter your dashboard in seconds is one of the things that makes our digital monitoring so powerful. There are two main filtering tools to keep an eye on.
Date Range
The data range filter allows you to see the mentions you want for any period. You have the flexibility to see a comprehensive history of your brand. Most dashboards will show coverage dating back to the start of 2019, no matter what date you signed up.
When you click on the date range button highlighted below, you can pick between the last X days option or a fixed date range option.
Last X Days
If you don't have a specific date in mind, you can look at a general last x amount of days like any of the below.
Last 12 hours
Today
Last 7 days
Last 14 days
Last 31 days
Last 90 days
Last 365 days
Etc.
Fixed Date Range
The fixed date range option is excellent for when you have specific dates in mind. A fixed date range works great for events or campaigns with exact dates.
All you need to do is click through the left calendar box to select your start date and the right calendar box to select your end date.
Search
The search filter is another extremely powerful tool to help instantly filter down your data. Enter any text or phrase to refine your results.
You need to use specific formatting to search for certain things within your dashboard, so the tool knows what you are looking for.
Single Searches vs Multi Searches
A single search is when you're looking for one thing using only one word or phrase to search.
Multiple searches are when you want the system to look for multiple things at once. To do this, all you need to do is include either AND or OR operations next to your different searches. This may seem intimidating, but it's very easy.
AND | +
When you add an AND or + operator, e.g. Leather AND Boots, Leather + Boots, this tells the system to find every piece of coverage that mentions both Leather and Boots somewhere in its text.
Leather AND Boots within the mention
OR
When you add an OR operator, e.g. Leather OR Boots, this tells the system to find every piece of coverage that has either 'Leather' or 'Boots'. It no longer has to mention both words, just one or the other.
Leather within the mention
Boots within the mention
Searching for: a Product or Campaign
There are several different ways to such for a product or campaign.
One Word Searches
If you want to look for a product or campaign that only contains one word, all you need to do is type it straight into the search box.
Two or More Word Searches
If you are searching for a product or campaign that contains two or more words, there are two ways to do this.
The first one is you type the raw phrase into the search box. This will pick up any variation of the phase itself. For example, if you type in Collegen Supplements, the system will bring up any mention in your dashboard that mentions EITHER
collegen
supplements
collegen supplements
This can be problematic when you are using common words that might bring up irrelevant mentions, e.g. collegen sunscreen, collegen masks or collegen skincare.
If you would only like the system to bring up mentions that contain your exact phrase, e.g. "Collegen Supplements", you will need to put quotation markets around the phrase you are searching for " ". This way, the system only brings up mentions containing all words in your phrase.
This can also be used for misspellings or name variations, e.g. Facemask OR "face mask"
Searching for: an Influencer
To search for a specific influencer's post, all you need to do is type author: then add the influencer's handle right next to it (no space). This tells the system it is looking for an author and searches through the handles. For example, author:oliviagrivas will bring up any posts or stories posted by @oliviagrivas
If you want to search for any mention that tags the influencer's handle in a post or story, then you can just type the handle straight in the search box, no author: needed as you are now searching through text. For example, you would search oliviagrivas and you would then see any posts, online mentions or stories talking about @oliviagrivas
Searching for: a Site
To search for a specific online site, all you need to do is type site: then add the site's domain right next to it (no space). This tells the system it is looking for a site and searches through the site domains. For example, site:womenshealth.com.au will bring up any mentions published by womenshealth.com.au
